Winter 05-06 - Adam Galleries

Winter Wonderland : I took these pictures during my finals week. (I needed a break from writing my paper) The morning had been foggy, and just below freezing, and that allowed ice crystals to form on everything. This made for some beautiful pictures since all the branches were coated a beautiful white. I tried to shoot as much as I could since the sun was melting away the crystals. I was also excited since I found a nice new path that was plowed and went through the back woods of Ames. I guess I'll stop rambling now and let the pictures speak for themselves.

Courtney's Volleyball and Snow : Just a few pictures of Courtney playing volleyball in Burnsville the same weekend that Kristi got to go to Las Vegas with the rest of her fam. Since they were gone, I offered to take Court up to her game. Well, we got stuck in Minnesota overnight due to a nice big snow storm that dumped around a foot of snow in the area. So here are some pics from the game, and the snow. :)

Houston Trip (Aquarium) : So we went on this trip to Houston Texas, mainly to see our Cyclones beat TCU in the Houston Bowl, buuuuut since they didn't want to cooperate and win for us, we decided we had to save the trip by doing something fun... so of course, we went to the Houston Aquarium. It looked pretty cool on paper, and even when we drove up, but after a walk through it, the only saving grace was the tigers they had at the end of the tour....yes, don't worry, we were thinking the same thing...WHAT THE HECK ARE TIGERS DOING IN AN AQUARIUM????!!! Since we never got an answer to that question, we politly rode the uberfast ferris wheel, and took the shark train ride with the "Jaws" ending...as you can see from the pics, it wasn't very breathtaking....We soon split the aquarium to travel to Galviston, cause why not see the ocean....Well, you dont see any pics of that since it was so foggy there, you couldn't see 50ft in front of you!

Houston Trip (NASA) : Since we were trying to salvage SOMETHING from our day of crappy things to see, we decided to stop at NASA just outside of Houston. Amazingly, it was a lot of fun, and very interesting. We got on the final tram ride of the day, and got to see mission control (for both the space shuttle and the international space station), and we also got to check out one of the huge training hangers that much of the astronaut training is done in. Overall the experience was well worth it, and I learned a good amount about the space center. I also learned that since there is so much space, it is also a nature preserve, so I just HAD to take a picture of the Deer Crossing sign....

Houston Bowl Game : Ahh yes, our exciting Houston Trip... We made the exhausting 17 hour trip down to cheer on our Cyclones, since we are hard core fans or course. Well, the Clones didn't fare so well, but we had a great time anyway. We got to tailgate in the parking lot of our hotel, the crap crap crappiest Best Western there is in this universe. If you are ever in Houston, I would advise staying away from the Best Western near Reliant Stadium. It was nice and close (a block away), but everything else about it was terrible. We had a great time besides the game (even that was fun at certain points) and no one wanted to stangle any necks after the 16 hour drive home. So take a look at all the pics from our trip. Enjoy!

Christmas '05 : Another Christmas has come and past. It was the "first Christmas of our engagement" and a great time was had by all. We spent Christmas eve and early Christmas morning at my house, and went to Kristi's house in Lake Mills for the rest fo Christmas Day. Next year, we will do the same thing, but switch houses. And I feel I owe everyone an explaination about our cat Cody. The blue bonnet is to keep him from licking a sore he has on his rear thigh, its not for humiliation or for decoration, but it is kinda cute. :)
